Age-Related Macular Degeneration
Because of requirements of physicians to report data to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), we converted to electronic medical records in 2015. We use a company called Compulink because they are one of the oldest, most reputable companies in the industry. Compulink has never been subject to a data breach which compromised patient's medical records. Our system is cloud-based, meaning doctors can access medical records even when we are not in the office.
Some benefits of the electronic medical record are the ability to import your current medications directly from your pharmacy, the sending of electronic prescriptions instead of writing them out, and communication directly with the patient. We currently utilize both email and text message reminders of upcoming appointments or the reminder that you're due to schedule another exam.
